Q. "Error 629 - The port was disconnected by the remote machine"

A.  The modem driver may be corrupt, reinstall modem drivers.
     DUN settings may be incorrect, make a new DUN Connection
     Make sure the phone or phone line is not causing the problem.

Q. "Error 650 - The Remote Access server is not responding"

A.  Cause : The Communications package has become damaged or corrupt
     Solution : Remove and re-install the Communications package
     Cause : Settings may be incorrect
     Solution : Check the DUN settings and making sure the checkbox to 'only connect
     at this speed' is unchecked can be an error in modem drivers too.

Q. "Error 676 - The line is busy"

A.  The network is busy or Telephone network in your area is busy. Please try to login
     again after few minutes or try another dialup number dialing a wrong number can also make this      error

Q. "Error 678 - The Computer You Are Dialing In to Is Not Answering"

A.  You are dialing the wrong number, Checked the number and try.
     Unselect the " Use area code and dialing properties" check box in connection properties.
     Your modem is unable to handshake with remote modem, may be line Problem or
     Modem driver problem. Modem drivers may be corrupted, reinstall modem driver.

Q. "Error 680 - There is no dial tone"

A.  Cause 1 : A telephone or other device is currently using the line.
     Solution : Ensure no other devices are using the phone line.
     Cause 2 : The line is not connected properly
     Solution : Ensure all cables are connected correctly as specified in your modem.
     (Phone line should be connected to the "Line" slot of the modem)
     Cause 3 : The line cable is faulty.
     Solution : Talk to your line provider to have the line checked out.
     Cause 4 : The modem is faulty.
     Solution : Talk to your modem supplier to have the modem checked out.
     Cause 5 : The dial tone is not recognized by the modem.
     Solution : Try using the initialization string X1

Q. "Error 691 - The computer you're dialing in to cannot establish a Dial-Up
       Networking connection. Check your password, and then try again."


A.  Please check your password again in Dialup Networking whether password is correct
     and password is all simple letter. If the password is OK, but still problem continues, please
     contact Helpdesk. (If you have only Email account username should be "username@email")
